Choir Rehearsal – Wednesday, September 14, 2011

On Saturday, November 12, 2011, Chris Tomlin will be in concert at the Argricultural and Expo Complex in Corbin, KY. Tickets are on sale for $29.00. If you would like to attend, please let me know no later than Sunday, September 18, 2011. Everyone is invited to attend.

Come join us as we celebrate the Lord’s Supper together. Service starts at 10 a.m.

The LBC kids choir will be singing next Sunday morning at the 10 a.m. service.

Dr. Hershael York and his lovely wife, Tanya, visited LBC yesterday evening. If you were not there you missed a blessing. He preached from Philippians 3:7-16. I have already received several requests for copies of his message. When he finished preaching I could see more clearly how suffering is a part of the sanctification process. Paul said, “…that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and becoming like him in his death, that by ANY means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead.” Philippians 3:10
We are grateful Dr. York’s ministry which has roots across our state, the nation and our world. He is a true man of the gospel.

We are excited to announce that Dr. Shane Garrison is our interim pastor. God has blessed him with a beautiful family and we are so happy to have them with us at LBC.

1. Our service times have temporarily changed. Sunday School begins at 8:45 a.m. and our Sunday morning service begin at 10 a.m.
2. LBC Men’s Choir will be singing at our first joint service on August 7, 2011. Our first rehearsal will be this Sunday, July 24, 2011, immediately following the evening service.
3. Lauren Oliver will provide special music August 14, 2011.
If you have any announcments that need to be posted, please contact me.

Bro. Nehemiah

This Sunday our choir special is “Praise To The Lord The Almighty!” This song is a paraphrase of Psalm 103:1-6, which begins, “Bless (PRAISE) the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name!” This was originally a German hymn that was translated to english and became very popular in America in the 19th century.
Spend time this week meditating on this passage of scripture and prepare your hearts for Sunday morning worship.
Psalm 103:1-6
“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. The Lord works righteousness and justice for all who are opressed.”
Lyrics to “Praise To the Lord The Almighty“
Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, the King of creation!
O my soul, Praise Him, for He is thy health and salvation!
All ye who hear,
Now to His temple draw near;
Praise Him in glad adoration.
Praise to the Lord, who o’er all things so wondrously reigneth,
Shelters thee under His wings, yea, so gently sustaineth!
Hast thou not seen
How thy desires e’er have been
Granted in what He ordaineth.
Praise to the Lord, who doth prosper thy work and defend thee;
Surely His goodness and mercy here daily attend thee.
Ponder anew
What the Almighty can do, If with His love He befriend thee.
Praise to the Lord, O let all that is in me adore Him!
All that hath life and breath, come now with praises before Him.
Let the Amen, sound from His people again,
Gladly forever adore Him.
Praise the Lord, Praise the Lord!
